DSSV 650 - Practicum in Disability Services (3 Credits)

Prerequisites: DSAB 601  and Departmental Permission
This course provides students an opportunity to gain experience working in a disability service office or other professional venue. In conjunction with an on-site supervisor and Practicum instructor, students will create a plan of study that includes expected practicum hours, topics to be explored, and evaluation criteria. Students are expected to designate at least 150 hours for this experience. At end of the practicum, students will write a report explaining what they learned and reflecting on the experience. Support will be provided by the SPS Career Services office, an on-site supervisor and their instructor in the Disability Services in Higher Education program.
